24 Things I Learnt By 24

Today I turn 24 and to say I'm not shitting myself at the fact I'm a year a way from 25 which means a year away from being closer to 30 than I am 20 is absolutely terrifying. But currently I am in London and London Fashion Week Festival with my mum, aunt and twin, hopefully having one too many glasses of prosecco or gin's and forgetting that I have to get up and go to work tomorrow. But on the run up I have had a little reflection on the things I have learnt in my 24 years.
1. It's ok not to have everything together at this age - house, proper career, family and all sorts included.
2. Always carry lip balm, chewing gum, spare sanitary, house keys and hand cream.
3. Not everyone is going to like you and you're not going to like everyone - that doesn't make you a shitty person.
4. Who cares if people see you are listening to mamma mia and disney classics on your spotify.
5. It's ok not to have a girl best friend to text every day, even if some days it makes you feel down.
6. You are never too old to start pursuing what you want to do, whether its just a passion or a career you desire.
7. It's ok to be 'boring' and prefer sitting at home in your dressing gown and a good film/book.
8. ALWAYS have pants just for periods
9. It's ok to stop seeing people and stop being friends with people if they don't make you happy.
10. Wash your bed sheets every week, nothing like clean bedding.
11. No matter what kind of mood you're in, always be polite to others.
12. If you're feeling angry or upset, go for a walk before making any decisions, fresh air does you a world of good.
13. meditation and yoga are so good for your body and soul, do more of it.
14. Eat that chocolate, packet of crips, sweets, takeaways - life is too short to disallow yourself the good stuff.
15. But remember all in moderation, you don't want to feel sick.
16. Focus on you, you cant compare your chapter 1 to somebodies chapter 5, 10, 20..
17. It's ok to cry, have your times of feeling down but don't let them consume you.
18. If you're going to congratulate and celebrate peoples achievements/steps forward in life , mean it.
19. After drinking too much alcohol take two paracetamol and a whole glass of water, thank yourself in the morning.
20. Never settle for less than you deserve, asking for what you want should never be asking for too much.
21. If you're tired, sleep. It doesn't matter if you need to nap at midday, 3pm, 5pm or even be in bed by 7pm. Your body needs rest.
22. Learn to appreciate and feel gratitude for the small things, a kiss in the morning, the cup of tea, a bus being on time - the more you appreciate things in life the more good will come to you.
23. Wear what you want and don't worry what others think, if you feel BOMB you definitely look it.
24. Drink at least 2 litres a day, the difference in your skin and health is amazing.
