Festival Time With PrettyLittleThing

Festivals are in full swing and to say that I'm not slightly jealous watching everyone going to see amazing bands and enjoy the whole festival vibe would be a lie. But my day will come (18th August to be exact) and I couldn't be more excited. The only problem is. I'm not a huge fan of festival wear.. I'm not a big wearer of colour or sequins two big things that I see at festivals. But again, PrettyLittleThing challenged me to create some festival outfits and so I thought.. Challenge accepted.

So off I went to the Festival Feels section and started by filtering the search to the colour palette I know works in my wardrobe. My word was I surprised. There was SO much to choose from and so I had to start creating  mood board after mood board on what I thought would work together to help create that vibe I wanted and here we are.

Outfit One - Oversized Tee As Dress

I have been seeing oversized tees worn as dresses for a while now and I just think they're super easy and breezy to throw on for a festival. When I saw this tee on the website I knew straight away I wanted to size up and wear it as a dress. Although I probably could have sized up once more (I got a size medium) I definitely think this is going to be a strong contender for Rize Festival. With the oversized feel I don't have to worry about my arm pits not being able to breathe (don't pretend you don't sweat from the arm pits, we all do) And I just want to help them as much as possible. Not to mention the motif on the tee gave me all the band tee vibes without being a fraud and wearing a Joy Division or Rolling Stone tee when actually I probably only know one or two songs and those being the most popular and probably will only recognise them if the song came on and someone said "oh this is so and so" So I'll just stick with the pretend band tee vibe. Then I thought it would only be wrong not to throw in a fedora because A have always wanted to wear one to a festival and B it's all about the head protection against the sun kids! We're outside all day so it all makes sense, especially because I only recently realised that the UV rays can damage your hair!

Outfit Two - All White with Black Details

All white to a festival!? Is she mad?! I hear you scream. Well yes, it would be pretty daring. Especially considering I am known for ALWAYS getting food down me. To the point where Sam has said that when I get in from work, if I am wearing white I have to change out of it before we have dinner! But honestly white and a tan just go hand in hand and I couldn't resist. Not to mention how cute this little top is, it is currently out of stock online but I have linked a very similar PrettyLittleThing top. Since trying out a white denim skirt I have also wanted to give white denim shorts a go. Because I mean if you're wearing shorts you can do all the drunken cartwheels at a festival right? These fit so nicely. They hit me just where I want them to so I can wear crop tops in comfort and they don't cling to my thighs so no chaffing for me. The only thing I would say is size up just one size as they are a little bum cheeky.

Outfit Three - The Most Sort After Co ord.
Yes, this coord sure has done the rounds. Especially in the white colour. But you know, I'm not that daring. I couldn't have two white outfits and so I HAD to get it in the stone colour. I just feel the sleeves really give it such a boho vibe and it's pretty hard to resist. Not only has it got the button down detail which I am obsessed with still but you cannot beat an off the shoulder vibe. Both stop at the perfect place showing a cheeky bit of skin in between but not too much so I can still help myself to that all important burger from the greasiest burger van going at the festival and then to tie it all together these killer boots. With a heel not too big, but big enough to stamp on the toes of people that push too much in the crowds (total accident of course.) Plus with the studded detailing I just feel it all ties together for that all important festival vibes.

So there we have it. How I'm going to pick one of these to wear when we go to Rize Festival for one day I don't know. Perhaps I'll have to be totally extra and change in the grim portaloos in between acts just so I can wear all three.

Have you guys got any festivals planned for this summer? I'd love to know where you are going.

A Little Life Update

So yesterday I broke up for summer. Halle-freaking-lujah! Yes the luxury of working in a school. Everyone was saying that this last term is a killer and I seriously brushed it off and thought it couldn't be that bad, as long as I have the sun then any playground duties and outside duties at after school club will get me through the 7 and a half week period. But my word. They have been tough, you can tell everyone is tired. Even the children and as the weeks have crept closer and closer I have been losing my patients just a little bit, however I have kept my cool and got through it. My little corner of the internet really has taken a back seat. This is mostly due to absolutely exhaustion at the end of the day (I will explain more). I literally come home, have dinner and a shower and climb into bed. If anyone is thinking about working with children in a school or anywhere else because "it'll be piss easy" trust me it's not. But that doesn't mean I love working with them because I sure as hell do. I am so grateful that although I didn't choose to persue a career as a teacher (see why here) Also noted that I seem to right life update posts every July. I have still been given the opportunity to teach at the school I work with, just without all the added paper work as well as acting like a big kid myself, children really are great.
Like I stated above I haven't been the best with my little blog due to exhaustion. Some may call it sheer laziness. However for me its been getting little out of had. To the point where when teaching children in the afternoon, instead of sitting at the table with them I have had to stand and rock from foot to foot as if I sit down I fall asleep, I can't keep my eyes open, no matter how hard I fight and I did actually nod off once. Now for someone that get's enough sleep, has started drink at least 2-3 litres of water a day and has no stresses in life at the moment it did feel a little concerning. So I took myself to the doctors for a blood test. I got no reply, which they said means nothing will be wrong if I don't get a text. However for me that wasn't a good sign. It meant I was no closer to finding out why I was becoming exhausted early in the afternoon. So I took myself to the doctors website and low and behold I can actually view all of my records. I scrolled through and it mentions something about thyroid and how I should speak to a doctor. Although I haven't made contact yet, due to the next 2 weeks being busy and me also heading to Newquay for a week of surfing it is on the top of my list to do when I get back. It'll be interesting to see if the doctors have anything to say and many people have actually mentioned that I should try taking B12 tablets which I am looking into so that I will keep you posted on. I feel this paragraph was a total anti-climax.. oops!
Ok, so now that the summer holidays have hit. It's full steam ahead with my blog. Yes I know I can't just do it in the summer and slow down because it doesn't work like that. But I have given myself the goal that is - this time next year I will be quitting my school job and becoming a full time influencer. It is out their now in the world. Everyone knows my goal and so it will happen. It's all pretty exciting. I'm going to my first event tomorrow and I am so excited to be meeting some gorgeous girls I have been speaking to for a while on instagram and I feel that is the start of everything that is about to happen. Not only am I doing that but I have set up a Youtube account. I just feel it is the next big step. I have been hearing bloggers saying that blogging is dying out. Which breaks my heart. But with Instagram being a platform that brands are constantly wanting content for it can become tricky. Youtube is also something so easily to digest. I tend to watch youtube every morning and evening as I can do other things while it's on. I love the whole idea of videography in vlogs and things to and I also dipped my toes in with IGTV and really enjoyed. That is another platform I want to be using as I think it is really going to take off. So this summer is all about setting up a Youtube, IGTV and continuing my blog and instagram so that when summer ends I can keep up with them and within the year be able to do something I love full time. I am planning on uploading to Youtube twice a week - Wednesday and Sunday and same goes for my blog, I'll be trying to upload on the same days so there will be plenty of content for you to get your teeth into. Not to mention how well we're all going to get to know each other as I want to be as honest and as open as possible and really be talking about all sorts of topics. It's a dream I can feel coming true so keep watching, I am super excited for this journey.

Those are the three big updates for now. Who knows instead of a yearly update I might make a three month thing. We will just have to see if the life of pagesfrombeth becomes interesting enough. I feel good things coming guys.
