The Silk Cami

I am the worst blogger, I had all intentions of this going up last weekend, but I never got round to writing it up and by the time I remembered it was way past acceptable to post a post on a Sunday, so it's been scheduled for now. This week has been an exciting one for me. I've had a few brands get in contact to work with me which is amazing because it shows people are liking my content and I won a competition for kiehl's products which I am so totally over the moon with as I've been wanting to try their products forever! So I will keep you lovely lot updated with how I get on with everything

I also went iceskating yesterday, which has kicked of Christmas for definite for me now so I am in full Christmas mode, Christmas songs and Christmas cheer galore until January 1st, if not longer. There is nothing better than ice skating with friends and then getting a few nibbles and drinks after it's just such a great activity and so festive! Now I just need to start that Christmas present shopping!

Now on to the outfit. Yes it has been freezing and yes my arms are out and yes that is a blogger cliche starbucks christmas cup in my hand as a prop (it was a delicious toffee nut latte may I add) But nonetheless I love this outfit. I am your average tee, jeans, jacket, boot/trainer kinda a gal with a skirt or dress thrown in when I want be extra jazzy, but that's nothing new I'm sure I mention that every time I write an outfit post. But what I wanted more than anything recently was to add more tops that aren't just stripes or plain to my wardrobe, so I can go out feeling a little put together and 'special' now and again.

So along came this cami -  well ok my sisters cami - because whats the point in having a sister if you can't share her clothes?! Firstly let me apologise for the fact it may have been lying on my floor for a while and so there is a lovely line right now the middle of it. But if we look past that we can see it's a gorgeous cream colour, the material is gorgeous and it has a little lace detail. Although my hair has hidden that detail well. I just love this. I can wear it casually like I have done here or I could dress it up with a skirt and maybe even a red lip for the evening. It's a win win really and so simple.

Aww the baker boy. Who hasn't seen these circling the blogosphere? I just really feel they are perfect for this season though! They may not keep your ears warm but they sure do keep your hair under wraps with the wind. Not to mention perfect for a bad hair day and you still look good! I love the plaited detail, buttons and leather like cap detail on this one and it was such a bargain! You really can pick up some gems in H&M.

Lastly boots, the winter staple of all winter staples. I think I get a new black pair every season. But that is because I can never find the right pair. Until now! (call me up on this if I buy a new pair next year and say the exact same thing) But they have the perfect sized heel and they are the sock style and they do actually fit my ankles perfectly! There is no bag or anything, I love them! The best thing is, they don't hurt your feet after wearing them for hours! Can you get any better than that??

What's your winter staple??

Is Blogging Dead?

Recently I've noted a big change in instagram. Remember the days when instagram really was instant? We could snap a photo of our us and our friends or our food, whether that just be a McDonalds, we'd post photos of us holding nail varnish with our newly painted nails, we'd snap our feet with the latest magazine a bag of sweets and we wasn't planned at all. Plus no one really questioned liking a photo all your friends or followers would just like your photo whether they quickly just scrolled or actually took the time to stop and look at it. Also captions were spars, it would be something a little as just an emoji a little sentence or nothing at all. Of course this isn't the change I'm talking about as this hasn't actually happened for a good few years now.

No, instead everyones posts are planned, posed and usually not instant at all. Days are used to get those shots for the grid, professional cameras are used and we agonise over what to write as a caption and remember to include those hashtags as practically no one will see your post other wise. The precision of all of this intensifies as the years go on. Some people follow strict themes, some have a style they put with their captions. People have really upped their game and I'm not moaning about it at all I love seeing all the beautiful photos, I take the time to read the captions no matter how long, I am in awe of the themes that people have created on their grids. It make's me want to work so hard to fill up the 3x3 grid with new photos daily and go out to snap my outfits and think about those captions as well as watch my numbers and engagement grow. But it got me thinking about blogging as a whole.
I realised that I work a lot harder on my content for instagram then I do my blog, one it's easier to keep up with as we can upload a photo, write a caption whether it's related to the outfit or not and then add those all important hashtags. Notifications instantly appear on my phone when someone likes, comments and follows me so I can quickly interact back and can easily do it anywhere. However, enjoy writing blog posts, in fact I find it super therapeutic to get down my thoughts and feelings plus it's a bigger space to get everything down in one place and I still write ideas down and try and plan as much as possible. But although a lot of people are still clearly blogging on their blogs I feel for interaction it's beginning to take a back seat.

I feel brands are approaching people purely based on their instagram now days, people interact way more through that platform than a blog and even as a very very small blog I've noticed the difference, I care more about my engagement on instagram then I do my blog, the blog groups on facebook if they say you can post any social media platform to help gain followers or just likes I tend to put my instagram down before my blog. People have begun to write larger, more personal captions so their followers can get to know them through that platform and so I ask, do you think blogging is dead? Do you think it's more about the one photo and the sometimes large caption, is instagram taking over?

Casual Floral Layering

So in my last outfit post I spoke about changing my photo editing style and I am thoroughly enjoying it, it just feels so autumnal. Alongside that though I have also been focusing on my style and trying not worry about what everyone is doing and wearing so much although that's not to say that I don't have blogger inspiration as I am massively crushing on Isabella at the moment, she really is my style, interior style and life goals (talk about girl crush) When I saw she'd style a sheer floral embroidery top I just knew I had to have one. At the time of seeing this style I had also been invited to a PrettyLittleThing event and I wanted to rock one of their pieces as well so I went online and found this for a bargain price of £20! Although it is a dress I would not wear it that way and instead styled it as a top, I have just found out that the dress I purchased is out of stock, however I have linked another and they are everywhere at the moment, plus urban outfitters have plenty of top styles too. But whether it's underneath a tee like this or by itself (post to come when I can photograph it) I just love it and constantly grab for it, it is a firm favourite at the moment.

Another thing I've been loving again are slogan tees. I love the white tee with red writing as I think that looks awesome but I also like a slight rock chic vibe. When I saw this in Urban I instantly fell in love. The colour was amazing as I feel it's quite a distressed black and the floral pattern isn't too girly at all, plus the white writing just stood out and I knew I could style it with the sheer top and also it would look good with a few pairs of jeans.

Tie it all together with a kick ass leather jacket and I dream of going to gigs and dancing till my socks full off and I just feel cool. That's what I love about dressing, for me I feel I change ever so slightly depending on how I dress and I think that's why finding your style is so important. This outfit makes me feel a little daring and quite confident. If I were to wear a dress or something girly I'd feel sexy and in sense a little cutesy too. It really is amazing what clothes can do.

Lastly the converse. I will apologise now as I think you will see a lot of these around. Yes it's risky having white in autumn/winter and yes they have a fair few marks on them already but I LOVE them. They go with everything, they're super comfy and I just can't help but grab them everyday even if I know it's risky wearing them when working with small people. (so far so good, no real stains or accidents)

And that is the outfit summed up. I feel this outfit will be totally marmite-y but I love it.
Do you ever feel fashion and wearing certain things changes you a little?

November Goals

What a great coincidence, the first of November lands on a Wednesday so this new kinda post doesn't ruin my uploading schedule just yet and maybe it's a sign that I've made the right choice to make this a monthly post because A it means I'll at least have a new post monthly and B it's a way I can see my goals for each month written down.

01 - November is all about finding my blogging groove, I vow to blog as often as possible because I know it's what I love. I get sad and stressed when I don't have content to post on my blog or instagram and so I am really going to knuckle down and write down any idea and try and spend a good few days getting content, which for mean will mean at the weekends due to my weekday job, but it'll be worth it!

02 - Health. I say it all the time but this month I need to drink way more water than I do, my skin and body will love me for it and I know that. I'm also going to start doing home work outs 3 times a week, because then I get a few days to let my muscles heal (I did a HIIT work out and could barely walk for 2 days - that shows how unfit I am) and also I want to start meditating daily. My emotions are so all over the place, I lash out easily, I get sad easily and I really have been reading about the benefits of meditation and so that's what I'm going to do. We really do need to look after ourselves and our bodies so this is a big goal for me this month.

03 - No more spending. A pretty simple one, but bar starting to buy presents for loved ones for Christmas I'm going to stop spending on myself, I keep buying clothes as I love that I've found my own personal style, but I really need to start saving to move out as I really am ready to have my own place, not to mention dreamy interior design I always find myself pining over. So apart from meeting and see people now and again (because we all need to live a life) I'm going to stop being so spendy.

I think that's it for now, start of small and the more I work at my health and blog I'm sure the goals will be rolling out at what I want to achieve. So here we go let's make the most of this month!

Stella and Dot Jewellery

Happy Sunday lovelies. This is so long over due, but you know when you have a vision for photos and it takes you far too long to get said image, well this is the probably I've been having with this post. I have become far too stuck in how I want my images to look even if I don't have said props for them and thus why my instagram and blog have taken a massive back seat. But that story is for another post.

This post is here to talk about this wonderful jewellery brand I have had the pleasure being shown that they exist. In an upcoming post I talk a little about personal style and what comes with that is accessorising. I am a big jewellery lover but also extremely picky. If you had come to me at the beginning of the year I would have said I am a silver lover and nothing or no one will change my view. However after Stella and Dot kindly gifted me these pieces I became a changed girl. Not only do I think gold is very autumnal and wintery and give a warm cosy tone to the season, I think they give more of a dressed up vibe to outfits.

I think this necklace really reminds me of the missoma horn necklace and how gorgeous is the silver and gold together. The bracelets are also so delicate and how gorgeous are the stones in one of the bracelet are just so pretty and the simple knot bracelet is just so elegant.

I love these pieces so much that I already have my eye on this necklace as I love the idea of layering necklaces and I just know that many of these pieces would make perfect christmas gifts for family and friends, is it too early to talk christmas!?

What kind of jewellery is your favourite? I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday! Sending hugs and good vibes.

Saying Yes To More

Another year, another birthday gone and with that comes change sometimes, I've recently been thinking about the word yes and with the growing and getting wiser I've been trying this word out a bit more and what a better time to try it out than right now.

Ever since secondary school I have been quite the introvert, when everyone else would go and sit on the field after school I'd get my mum to meet me straight after school and bring me home, when the girls made plans to go to town I'd stay at home in my pyjamas and binge one tree hill and when my friends went to house parties I sat at home with my parents or spent all evening and night on my laptop, if that doesn't scream introvert I don't know what else does.

However, when I got to year 9 I started saying yes to everything. We didn't get home from school till late evening everyday, I went to every house party and some weekends would get home at 7 in the morning, shower and go straight back out. Every opportunity, any plan and I would be there. That is how I remember my secondary school days anyway. They really were the best, we were always out and doing crazy things. For example one summer some random guys asked my friends if we wanted a ride on their jet ski's when we went to the beach and we said yes (looking back it was a little stupid, anything could have happened) but that's not what we thought of, we thought of making great memories and having an amazing time.

But since leaving secondary school finished and my friendship group separated and pretty much became non existent saying yes became less and less, a lot of it due to my anxiety that developed during college and university and some of it because I was one of those people that wanted to be around their boyfriend 24/7 and lastly because I've developed this rather lazy personality. I was always so worried that if I didn't spend what spare time I had lying around and doing nothing then I wouldn't have the energy to work or do much more. But one day I decided to take the plunge and start doing more. Because of that I've met a lovely group of blogging girls and met them a couple of times, I've been to a couple of events and I've been really enjoying myself.

But the point of this little post and my blabbering (I really do keep getting super personal) is that I recommend if you can to start saying yes to more, you have so many years to lie in bed and do nothing but be lazy. I want those crazy fun stories that you tell your children about, I know I have plenty from my teenage years, but it's time to start creating them from my adult years, it's time to start saying yes to more! Who knows what could happen.

And with that is the end of my very belated birthday type post, or at least thats what I'm saying this is just so I have an excuse to put this birthday themed photo in this blog post!

Polka Dot Trend For Autumn

So, it's been a while. What an awful blogger I am! But life has been so hectic, I started my first ever full time job, working as a teaching assistant and I'm still finding my way with fighting sleep in the evenings and finding time to blog without said falling asleep. You might question why I'm so tired, after all don't teaching assistances only work 9-3. While that may be slightly correct (actual hours 8:30-3:15 ahem) I also run to another school to work at an after school club till 6 three days a week and in all honesty, working in a school is exhausting, they don't give holidays just for the kids! It's all worth it though because the work is rewarding the kids are amazing and absolutely hilarious, I dare you to find another job where you go and no matter what mood you're in you can't help but feel happy I know I have definitely found the job for me.

But right now I am working on finding the balance because I want to blog and blog and along side that grow my engagement it really does make me happy doing this, so lets hope this is my comeback. I want to get back into posting at least every Wednesday and Sunday. However, I don't know if anyone has realised but I've changed the way I usually edit my photos. I am so totally inspired by the Scandinavian blogging vibe like Isabella and although I know my photos are a little orange and pretty far from the vibe that is my goal, so if anyone has any tips on editing in that style please do let me know as it would be so helpful! I also I hope it's not too big of a change that you still continue to like my content and enjoy the change I want to make.

I also want to continue lifestyle Wednesday posts, however due to my editing change I'm not 100% I want to keep to the flatlay photos for those posts as I don't think it fits the style, but struggling to think of what photos I could take to go with it, there is only so many photos you can take in coffee shops and browsing shops and things before it all gets to similar so if you have any ideas again please do share!

Let's not forget that this is an outfit post though. Aren't polkda dots making the rounds already this season. Yes I was too slow in getting this outfit up so this blouse isn't being sold anymore, however this is just as fabulous. I loved the runch detail on this top and as a girl that struggles to find tops that I don't get bored of or feel blegh in after a couple of times of wearing it I feel this adds a little something to my wardrobe and breaks up the 100s of stripes I have in my wardrobe.

Truth be told I've only worn these loafers for these photos, but that's because they are sooooo different from my normal footwear and when I look down I just think 'granddad, granddad' But when I look at these photos I think actually they don't look half bad and they were only £3 in primark! I just keep picturing them with blue straight jeans and I just need to get braver because all the bloggers wear the gucci and look bloomin' awesome!

So let me know what you think of the change in photos, please be nice it is the direction I am going in and no it needs a lot of work to be desired! I hope you are all well!

The Perfect LBD

So we've all seen that famous Urban Outfitters LBD that every blogger is styling and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't fallen inlove with it also, but alas the price tag was however was stopping our relationship. So when I took a trip to london and fell into Brandy Melville like I have to every time I take a visit and I am so glad I did because I would not have found this dress, which is practically the same as the UO one and I know that I could not leave without it, especially as it is nearly half the price of the other one how could I not say no!

I feel it really is the perfect LBD, as you can see I've styled it for a casual day time look, but through on a pair of heels, and a jacket or killer lipstick and your ready for a night with the girls (note to self, style and snap photos in both next time)  The fit is just perfect with that slight A-line cut and spaghetti strap its just gorgeous and so simple.

I decided to style it with this gorgeous necklace from Stella & Dot. I was kindly gifted it and also went to a recent event they held in Brighton, which was amazing! They'd styled the place so gorgeously and the girls were so so friendly it was so nice, not to mention the gorgeous products they had out which are to die for! But yes, this necklace. doesn't it just remind you of a Missoma piece. I loved that the chain is gold but the horn is silver it's such a difference and for a girl that doesn't wear much gold its a lovely way for me to get to like it. I just thought it was such a simple piece to dress up the dress.

Botanics | The New and Improved

Recently I was approached by the brand botanics and asked if I wanted to create content with them and after looking through their instagram, I thought *why not?* I mean just look at the products to begin they are so dreamy looking and so photogenic. That's not the only reason though. I loved the fact the brand was all natural and plant based. Sometimes the thought of all the chemicals in other skincare is a little scary and the damage it's probably causing slightly *shudders* The products use high quality ingredients and they don't test on animals, sold yet? I am thoroughly enjoying the products and so is my skin especially with burst of late summer we've been having they are just gorgeous!
Rosewater Toning Spritz - This weather recently, damn is it hot again! After spending the day on the beach and then taking off the salt water and sand in the shower, my skin still felt hot and just not quite clean enough, but a few spritz of this and wow. Honestly, it not only made the skin feel rejuvenated and cleaner but it really was so calming and refreshing my skin loved it. Also the smell is so refreshing too. In all honesty a lot of my skincare doesn't have a smell that instantly makes me think *awww* but even the smell of this is refreshing. Absolutely perfect.

Hyrdrating Day Cream - If there is one part of my skin care I always always ensure I keep up, it's moisturising every day/night (let's be honest we've all been tired or lazy from time to time and not done the whole skincare routine) I will give any moisturiser a go, I just love keeping my skin radiant and hydrated, even on a very hot day it sunk in quickly and left no greasy feel to the skin. My skin feels just as soft as when using other moisturisers, not to mention the benefits of rosehip giving omega-3 and 6 essential fatty acids that really do help to nourish the skin.

All Bright Purifying Scrub - I am all for anything that exfoliates my skin and leaves it all bright and glowing not only is hibiscus my favourite flower but it also has brightening properties which I am always looking for in my skincare as I love that bright glowy look and when my face started to peel due to a little sunburn it really did stop the peeling, not completely but I didn't look so flaky and gross and that along with the moisturiser both worked so well together.

All Bright Radiance Balm - Now I know I already mentioned I love a bright glowy look and girls, this is the true answer to it all. This little beauty can be used as a primer to give you a glow when applying make up, or I wear it just by itself as I don't wear foundation and things and it's given me such a glow, granted when I first tried it I was burnt and it did bring out the redness but since that's gone and my face is now tanned it really does give me that last of the summer healthy glow and it's all thanks to hibiscus and its richness of AHA's giving that gorgeous luminous look. I'm hoping this gives me that lasting summer glow even when the weather turns cold and miserable!

* sponsored post - however all opinions are my own.

If you too want to get your hands on these products too use BOTANICS2 when you shop online to get £2 discount at check out.

Honest to Blog: Friendship

Tricky one to write this post. It's something I struggle and get down about often. When I was in primary and secondary school I always had a big group of friends, most of which were boys I just seemed to always click with them more. But in a way that's now come back to haunt me or may be I've never actually been good at making friends? I guess what I'm trying to say in this honest to blog post is that friendships are hard for me.

I want that friendship where you wine and dine over conversation full of laughter or even deep thoughts. I want the friendship where you always have that person to text and you have inside jokes or where you take weekend breaks away with your small girl gang creating memories for a life time that you can share with your own children when one day you go on play dates and things as you grow older.

I want that feeling where after each encounter you feel so happy and content and it pushes that loneliness from us all that will not waver until the next meeting. I want to be that person that friends know they can come to 24/7 if they want to because I'd be there for them to talk to and for me to listen and talk back when it's needed.
After leaving school settings, whether that be primary school, secondary school, college or university where we are pretty much thrown together with others and make friends because what else is there to do when we see them 5 days a week for hours. School is how we make friends and where we create our memories with those friends and we have people we can turn to when we feel stressed or sad and  those are the people  that we speak to all the time and go shopping with and have those fabulous school sleepovers it's easy making friends at school. I have had some fabulous friendships and always have such nostalgia when I come across old photos and things.

But sadly the majority of those friendships for me bar a few have dwindled, never for bad reasons but the norm that happens for most people. We grow up. We grow up and we create new lives, we get jobs, we go to university, we start families and become adults and with that I've experienced lots of friend losses. This is probably a main reason of me feeling so down. I crave what I wrote above. I don't really know what I'm trying to say in this post to be honest. It's a big brain dump on how I miss having close friends to make memories and talk to and gossip with pretty much 24/7.

I also do not have an clue on how to make friends now days. I try to use social media to talk to people but at the moment it's not clicking, I guess it takes a little longer to click especially through the internet but yeah I guess in a way this is a reach out in asking people what they do to makes friends. I have so many wonderful people in my life, I just really want a few more close friendships and to create memories that will last a life time! (That's so my poor bestie doesn't get bombarded with me asking her to do everything and anything with me - although I know she loves it)

I feel it's going to get to a point where people start making friends online, kinda like tinder, but less creepy and weird so if anyone wants to chat and make friends honestly feel free to message me, I don't bite and it would be lovely to talk to more like minded people that enjoy blogging or going on adventures or coffee dates and all sorts!
I'm so tired of feeling lonely and not having a group of girls that I can chat to and things, lets use all our kindness and platforms to create friendships and memories!

It's Ok To Be Lazy

I was meeting my friend for brunch, like we have been doing on a weekly basis for the past 2 or so months and we were discussing everything, like girls do and we both started talking about how we feel weird. Not down or anything just weird and we weren't sure why. We said that we felt lazy while our other halves were out everyday working their butts off and here we were living the life of luxury like 'soccer mums' brunching every week, relaxing at home, meeting other people and basically doing whatever we please. We talked about how we felt so guilty and lazy and not great about it in the slightest.

But then my friend said we shouldn't feel this way. We have both finished courses and worked incredibly hard on assignments and me on placement and both got the results we worked really hard for and now it's our summer. We may be adults now but we deserve a summer to relax and enjoy the time off from all that hard work we did. Because we'll both be starting jobs and working 5 days a week and really starting our new 'adult' lives like everyone else. We spoke about how when we start these jobs if we continue to feel guilty about relaxing like we do, then we won't feel rejuvenated and properly ready with our new working routines. So instead of feeling bad I'm going to learn to enjoy this time off, because heck after this is over I won't get it anymore. (Well actually I will because I'm working to the school terms, but hey!)

That means from now on, if I wake up with my boyfriend at 7:00am to see him off to work and then climb back into bed for 2 or even 3 more hours and in that time I spend it dozing in and out of sleep or watching copious amounts of youtube or reading blogs that's fine by me. It's something I enjoy doing and I won't be able to laze in bed gone 10:00am by myself and being leisurely.
The days that I'm at home in my pyjamas watching episode after episode on netflix and they ask if I'm still watching and I click yes, well who cares!? I won't be able to do this as often as I like soon and I will so miss being able to wear my pyjamas all day any day and changing only to get into a new pair after a shower.

If I want to go out for brunch, or breakfast or lunch or dinner once a week (maybe more) than I bloomin' well will! There is nothing I like more than food and my goodness do I like trying new places and when I'm working it'll be 8:30-6 most days so I won't be able to eat out at any time of day as often as I'd like so I am gonna make the most of it!

One of my favourite things is sitting in the lounge with my mum eating tasty feta, ham and salad wraps with tea or coffee and watching the most awful but brilliant tv programmes - see, naked attraction, my face or yours, don't tell the bride and others. Also when it hits 2 pm we go off to our bedrooms to have some chill alone time and I absolutely love it. It's quality time with my mum and that all important recharge time and now my mum has a job and I soon will be working we have to make the most of this mother daughter time and give no cares who knows just how lazy and awful our tv taste is!

What I'm trying to say is, is if you too are at a time in your life where you don't feel like doing much or you feel like you too are being a 'soccer mum' then it's ok. We all deserve that time and you shouldn't feel guilty because not many people get this time to just relax and enjoy doing whatever they wish so to speak. We'll all be working our butts of soon so enjoy being lazy, you never know when you'll be able to next!

That Red Wrap Dress

Red dresses, who hasn't seen them around?! So I thought I'd grace you all with yet another red dress. I am all about wrap dresses at the moment I can not stop wearing them, as well as looking at others I so badly want to buy. They really are the ultimate summer dress, just like the skirt you can use the wrap to hide a food baby and what more could you ask for, if you're anything like me and love eating that is! I am so about adding a few more floral and colourful pieces to my wardrobe and this ticks both those boxes!

I am all about a good dress, however I am not all about being super girly and so I paired the dress, like I do with most dresses with trainers and a leather jacket. I love the black colours with a girly dress I feel it really does un girly the whole look. I also cannot get enough of this bag at the moment, I feel it reminds me a little of the zara bag that everyone and their dog seems to have but I got it for free as it was my sisters - the perks huh!? I really dig the chain it really adds something to an outfit I think.

Also anyone noticed how it's not my usual two locations for shooting photos in! How exciting to have a new location, I saw this posted on the @brighton instagram page and just knew it would be the absolute perfect location to shoot a red dress in. I just thought the green door and the wall would compliment the dress so well and I absolutely adore how these photos turned out!

Are there any dresses that you are loving this summer?!
