New Years Eve Outfit

It's that time of year again where will all celebrate and say goodbye to yet another year. This is the one time of the year that I really like to think of an outfit and get dressed up as I don't ten to actually go out often during the year and this is the outfit I picked for this year.

Reflection on twenty sixteen

I've been reading a few of these and all of them have been very positive, with people doing amazing things and genuinely sounding like they've had a lovely year and it has been wonderful read, I thought about not doing one but then I also thought it would be nice to read and look back on in a years time just to see how things have changed and such, because in all honesty my 2016 has probably been my least favourite year.

What I Got For Christmas

Before I'd start I'd just like to say that I am in no way bragging about the things I received over this Christmas period, I just thought I'd share some of the gifts I received as I cannot begin to explain how lucky and blessed to receive all that I did.

Christmas Gift Guide: For Him

So I don't think this going to be as detailed as the Gift Guide For Her, only because I'd be here for ages trying to think of lots of individual things like for the first gift guide and let me tell you it's very hard to shop for boys without going for the generic gift set of aftershave, hip flask, or crate of your dads favourite beverage. This was made with boyfriends in mind, but I'm sure you could grab some kind of inspiration to get your brother, friend or even your dad, just don't go buying them underwear, that could be the gag of a new joke or be a little awkward! But nonetheless, here we go!

Christmas Gift Guide: For Her

It's that wonderful time of year again, so what a good way to start the festive season then checking out a gift guide to help you find something for the special lady in your life whether it be a girlfriend, friend or family member I may have just the thing for you!
I tried to cover a lot of ideas in this edit trying to think of something for everyone, so although the pictures give you an idea I thought I'd go in depth in other ideas around the areas I've photographed to help, so keep reading to see other suggestions I may have!

Easy Peasy Cinnamon Swirls

In the autumn there is nothing like a warm gooey cinnamon tasting pastry, imagine cosying down with a blanket, hot chocolate and a couple of these dribbled with icing sugar. Well when I saw Carrie post her recipe on the blog I was thrilled, not only could I get the taste of cinnamon but also the fresh warmth that shop bought just can't give you and with very little effort! So what better way to spend a Sunday!

TV shows to watch during the colder months

The days are getting shorter and the temperature is getting lower, so what is it that all of us love to do when the seasons change? Snuggle down with a blanket and hot chocolate, maybe even light a few candles and most importantly binge watch a series or 2 so if all you want to do is this but you're struggling to decide what to watch I thought I'd list a few that I deem worthy of binging and possibly addictive.

A foodies guide to Budapest

Pink Cadillac
For our first meal because we got into Budapest early evening we decided to stay quite close to the place we were staying. Although I am one try traditional dishes when visiting a new place, sadly nothing from Hungary really took my fancy (insert monkey with hands over face). So we stuck to pasta's and pizzas and burgers for our dinner's. But I'm glad we did because this little restaurant was just right. It had a good variety of vegetarian dishes suitable for my friend and it even did gluten free which is a result if you know anyone who is. The food was absolutely to die for. I went with the burger and being a massive burger fan I do enjoy trying them where ever I go and my word was it good. There was plenty of sauce, some of which ended up on my nose (maybe not a meal for a romantic date) and the girls all send their dishes of risotto and and tagliatelle were just as delicious. Also the serving of barcadi was so large we only needed one and that is definitely one of the things I enjoy about being abroad haha! The waiter was so friendly so I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!

Budapest, Hungary Travel Diary Two

St Stephen's Basilica

So on to day two! In all honesty we spent the first half of our day eating and drinking and so that half is in another post, but with full tummy's we started wondering to the Buda side of budapest, Yep that is right, Budapest is split in half by the Danube River, one side is known as Buda, and the other by Pest. Buda is the side which is known to be older and not as hustle and bustly but on this side is home to the castle and many gorgeous architects, so it was only right that we spent our second day visiting it. On our walk to the Iron Bridge, we walked past St. Stephen's Basilica, if I'm being honest though one of the main reasons I wanted to walk past here is because I knew there was a gem of an ice cream stand near by (see my food post for the surprise) But we were here so we did take time to admire the grand building, I mean just look at it! It's no surprise is known as one of the most significant and beautiful churches in Budapest.

Budapest, Hungary Travel Diary One

I recently took a trip to Budapest with my sister and an old but dear friend of ours. We'd joked months ago through twitter about all getting away and going to see Budapest together, but none of us really thought anything would come of it. Then around Easter we actually decided to go ahead and do it, add a little spontaneity to our lives and so off we went to Budapest! Although we were there from 5th-8th of June really we only had 48 solid hours to explore as the two other days were spent travelling and my word did we manage to pack a lot into the two solid days! So here is a little diary of what we got up to.

5 Tips to Relax

Relaxing and unwinding are definitely very important, without it we could all become little stress balls of unhappiness and that wouldn't be fun. Especially if you're in the middle of revision or writing essays or you're working a lot, relaxing and unwinding will definitely keep you sane as well as giving you that much needed energy to get back to it. I have just finished my essay's for this University year, but as mentioned I am about to embark on a 6 week placement teaching little ones and the need to relax will be something that will keep me sane, so here are 5 ways that I relax..

Capsule Wardrobe Update

So the first three months of my capsule wardrobe experiment is finally up! Even after this little time of testing out the idea I feel like I have learnt quite a bit. I struggled with the itching need to shop and update my wardrobe (although this was when the 3 months were nearly up) so I can justify it that way. But nonetheless I actually never got fed up with my wardrobe or woke up with that dread of not knowing what to wear because of feeling like I had nothing to wear, if anything I would have to lie in bed the night before planning tomorrow's outfit because I had so much choice and wanted to wear loads of outfits all in one day!

So I can safely say that right now it is working for me. But I thought I would write a little update to let you guys know what I actually think and what is and isn't working for me, because I mean if it worked all the time I would never grow and learn new things about myself and I enjoy finding out about myself, so here is my capsule wardrobe update:

4 tips on how to get a good nights sleep.

Since as long as I can remember I have struggled with getting to sleep. My mum used to give me a walkman (anyone remember those) before I went to bed with pop party inserted so that I would be able to fall asleep, even it meant listening to the cd twice through before this finally happened. But the struggle was mostly because how could you fall asleep when listening to "we're going to Ibiza, back to the island!" If I did not have this walkman I would become a complete mess of tears at the end of my mum's bed because it was 3 in the morning and I still hadn't slept. I don't have a clue where this came from or why I have never been able to sleep, although I now know when I can't sleep it is due to worrying about everything and anything.

I know that as soon as I tuck in tonight and try and sleep I will not for hours and this is due to the fact I am worried about going back on placement tomorrow morning. Although I know I have no reason for this as I very much enjoy working with the children, but nonetheless I can bet you that I will see 3, maybe even 4 or 5 o'clock even though I have to get up at 6 for the next 6 weeks. But I do have a few ways in which I try to get my mind to shut off so I can get if only a few hours sleep and so I thought I'd share them as they have definitely helped me through many many years.

Brighton Blogger Meet

On the 19th of March I headed over to The Globe for my first ever blogger's meet up, which was all put together by Laura from Lola & Behold. It really was such a lovely event and I got to meet so many nice girls, which is lovely because I didn't know any other bloggers in Brighton beforehand and it really was so lovely to meet some other people in Brighton that blog, everyone was so lovely too! (unfortunately, due to it being so dark it wasn't great lighting to take photos with the lovely ladies, but when we meet again we will definitely have a photo sesh!) Luckily for me also I did get to go with my twin sister, which helped with the slight nervousness. It also gave us the chance to discover new brands which was such a great opportunity to do!

The Salt Surf Jumper

Welcome to the first outfit in my autumn/winter capsule wardrobe, even if spring is very nearly creeping in! I've even embraced stepping outside in just a thick cardigan and a scarf this past week! But to be fair that is only usually to go to a lecture, or to the library then back to the flat so it's not like I've spent all day every day outside, I can only imagine that I'd feel the cold if I were to do that. But I am fully embracing not having to wear a coat by all means!

One day I will have this whole outfit pose malarky down, but for now you will have to be graced with my embarrassed smile and awkward stances, does taking photos in public for your blog ever get easier!? Nonetheless, I absolutely love wearing this jumper, ever since I saw Ivana post it on her Instagram I was immediately sold, as a girl who has always loved the beach and longed to learn to surf properly I couldn't possibly say no. I don't know what it is about this jumper but as soon as I put it on I instantly feel care free, confident and like I could do anything and have lots of fun in it, does that sound crazy? Isn't that how you're supposed to feel when wearing your clothes?!

As you'll see through the next couple of outfit posts that go up my style does change from this very casual type to maybe a little more put together, but that's part of the whole capsule wardrobe idea, it's about finding your style and clothes you feel comfortable in, even if that means you have a few different styles and like I said I'm more than happy with my wardrobe and the style I seem to have created at the moment.
